Teacher Hangs Herself in Classroom

I just ran across this article before I left work and I was utterly aghast at the details.

In Californa, a teacher locked her classroom and apparently hanged herself.

The kids were trying to get in the classroom and noticed the door was locked so they went and got help from another teacher to open the room.

When they did, she was found hanging!

Imagine how your child would be permanently scarred at the sight of a dead body but in the classroom at school where they are supposed to be shielded from things like this.

The police are handling this as a suicide but they did not find a note anywhere in the classroom.

The teacher was only 31 years old.

I’m just trying to figure out why she would choose to kill herself at the school when she knew students would potentially see her and be traumatized.

Maybe she felt as if she did it at home, no one would find her for days or something.

I don’t know but they had to let school out early due to the discovery and investigation.

This world is turning into a crazy place!

Kylie Jenner’s New House

Kylie Jenner’s New House

I’m sorry, whaaat?!  Kylie Jenner’s new house?  Isn’t Kylie Jenner every bit of 17 years old???

The Kardashians obviously do things a bit different from the rest of us.  At 17 I was in high school doing my homework and living under my parents roof.  I wasn’t grown yet and I definitely wasn’t about to get a house on my own.

What is Kris thinking?  She’s not and this is crazy.  Has Kylie emancipated herself from Kris and Bruce or something?  I just don’t get this.  No 17 year old should be buying their own house and living on their own unless it’s in a dorm room or apartment on or by a college campus.

Tell me if I’m wrong but I do not agree with this at all!!!!!!  This house is amazing but she doesn’t need to move out and be all grown.  They spoil her to death and this is going to come back and bite them both.

I guess her and Tyga can really get their relationship going with all that privacy!  Hmmmmm

Prayers for Carlos & his Quads

Prayers for Carlos & his Quads

This is such a touching story. Carlos Morales and his wife Erica were elated to become parents to a set of quadruplets after suffering a prior miscarriage. Erica went into labor at 7 months and had a C-section birth.  She delivered the babies and was taken to the recovery room.

After coming out of anesthesia, Erica squeezed her husband’s hand and they shared a quiet moment together. A short time later, alarms went off in the room and doctors rushed in to attempt to save Erica’s life.  An hour later, she was gone. She didn’t get a chance to choose the name for their last baby girl, she didn’t get to hold them, she didn’t get to see the love showered on her entire family, and so many other 1st still to come.

And then, there’s Carlos. He will have to pick up the pieces and raise their children by himself. He will constantly be reminded of his beloved wife in each of their little faces. When asked about this day, he said, “I went from having the best day of my life to the next morning experiencing the worst day of my life,” Carlos says. “My four babies came into the world and then my wife died.” In her honor, he named the 3rd little girl Erica.

Please keep this new dad, Erica’s family and their babies in prayer. There is a go fund me account setup for them as well; Erica Morales Fund – Quadruplets : http://de.gofund.me/kbkpag

Treadmill 101

If you’re trying to get fit, a treadmill is a wonderful way to do so.  These days there are soooo many options from various name brands that it can make your head spin.  I am looking for the perfect treadmill myself for my mom, daughter, and I to get fit with and I had to do some serious research.

Did you know that there are recommended treadmill belts depending on your height and weight?  They’re sure are.  I found out that if you weigh a little more than your recommended weight or you are taller than average, you need a wider and longer treadmill belt so that when you’re walking or running, it’s more comfortable.  I found 2 treadmills at Walmart.com that had a belt 20×55 that would be optimal for all of my family members.

Also, there are treadmills with cushioned belts now that make walking less stressful for your feet and joints, especially those knees.  This is great for everyone.  I stopped walking outside on the concrete because it was wearing my knees out and I was always in so much pain afterwards.

I even found out that there are manual treadmills!  You must be crazy!  I need a motor on mine to give me that little push.  LOL

Whatever your preference, choose a treadmill that works well for you and what you’re trying to accomplish.  Inclining treadmills are a great way to increase the calorie burning in your workout.  You may find the treadmills equipped with preset workouts, cooling fans, and even some that you can plug an iPhone into for musical workouts.

Let me know if you have a treadmill already and how it works for you.  I love recommendations.

I’m thinking of getting the Gold’s Gym Crosswalk 570 from Walmart when it comes back in stock (below).  The reviews I read were great and it has the wider belt I need since I’m a bigger woman.

Get fit with me CDs!  We all need to make sure we take care of our temples.  We only have one.

5 Foods That Reduce Your Risk of Heart Disease | Fitness Magazine

By now you’re well versed in the basics of a heart-disease fighting diet: Pack your plate with plenty of fruits and veggies, foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, and the occasional dark chocolate treat while minimizing those high in sodium and saturated and trans fats. Well, several new studies have found that these foods outshine the rest when it comes to reducing your risk of heart disease.

Blueberries

Good news if you heart blueberries: Just one cup per day could help decrease your blood pressure and reduce arterial stiffness, reports the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Participants who downed 22 grams of freeze-dried blueberry powder (equal to one cup of fresh berries) for eight weeks experienced a 5 percent decrease in blood pressure and a 6.5 percent decrease in arterial stiffness. One reason? Blueberries helped boost levels of nitric oxide, which is important for dilating blood vessels, by nearly 69 percent. More research is needed to understand how, exactly, blueberries have this effect, but there’s no downside to popping more of the sweet fruit throughout your day.

Avocado

An avocado a day may keep the cardiologist away. People who added an avocado to their daily diet experienced improvements in their LDL (bad) cholesterol levels, reports a study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association. After five weeks, those consuming a moderate-fat diet plus a daily avocado experienced a 13.5-point decrease their LDL, compared to an 8.3-point drop among those who ate a moderate-fat diet sans avocado, and a 7.4-point drop among those who ate a low-fat diet without an avocado. Researchers attribute the heart-healthy effects to monounsaturated fatty acids along with fiber, antioxidants, and other compounds. However, this doesn’t give you carte blanche to fill up on salty chips and guac. Add more avocado to your diet the heart-healthy way by tossing it into salads, spreading it on sandwiches, or even blending it into smoothies.

Oats and Other Whole Grains

People who eat more whole grains such as oats, brown rice, and whole-grain bread have a lower risk of death, especially due to cardiovascular disease, according to a new study in the Journal of the American Medical Association. People with high whole-grain intake—as much as six or more servings per day—have a 15 percent decreased risk of death due to heart disease, researchers found. Previous studies suggest that fiber in whole grains may help reduce blood cholesterol and blood pressure levels, which can help protect your heart. Take a scan of your diet and replace refined grains (such as white bread, white pasta, white rice, bagels, and other baked goods) with whole. Replacing just one serving of refined grains with a serving of whole grains per day was associated with an 8 percent lower risk due to cardiovascular causes, the study found.

Almonds

Shed fat and boost your heart health? Sounds like a win-win to us. Participants who snacked on 1.5 ounces of almonds per day for six weeks lost more abdominal fat and experienced a greater decrease in LDL (bad) cholesterol than those who snacked on a muffin containing the same number of calories, reports a study in the Journal of the American Heart Association. Excess belly fat and increased cholesterol levels are associated with metabolic syndrome, a cluster of risk factors that can increase your risk of heart disease and other health issues. Almonds are a rich source of oleic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid, as well as fiber and phytosterols. Reach for a handful of almonds per day.

Tea

Although tea drinkers may have healthy habits to begin with, there’s also evidence that antioxidants in tea, such as flavonoids, may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease as well as other conditions including cancer and diabetes. In one Dutch study, drinking three to six cups of tea a day was associated with a 45 percent lower risk of dying from heart disease (compared to those who had a cup or less). Also worth noting: Drinking two to four cups of coffee was associated with a 20 percent reduced risk of heart disease (compared to those drinking less than two but more than four). So tea’s more caffeinated counterpart may not be as bad as once thought, in moderation.

Mom Shaves Her Daughter’s Head

Ok, Cocoa Drops, we have a dilemma here.

There have been men giving their sons bald heads or ” Fred Sanford” haircuts to curve bad behavior or bad grades.

The mother in this article decided to shave her daughter’s hair, jail style, because she refused to comb and brush her hair.  So basically she wasn’t keeping up with her personal hygiene and her mother said her hair was nasty and may end up being a rat’s nest.  Eeeeewwww

That is truely disgusting and she should’ve taught her daughter a lesson BUT did she have to shave it all the off?!

image

To me, that’s a bit much.  I would’ve cut it short like a boy but not bald like this.  Now if it was so matted, smelly, and nasty with lice and stuff that’s different.

What are your thoughts on the matter?

The Roast of Justin Bieber

It is IMPERATIVE that we all watch the roast of Justin Bieber on March 30th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually think this will be the all time best roast ever in the history of roasterdom (if you will).  LOL

image

Kevin Hart said he was gonna make Justin cry and I believe it.

Why would he subject himself to such public humiliation.  Then you know they’re going to talk about EVERYBODY in his life!  Now Justin is concerned about Selena being brought up during the roast.  Oh well. When you’re roasted nothing is off limits unless Selena’s legal team gets the roasters to sign documents or be sued.  I don’t know if you can do that though.

I’m gonna try to record the roast so I can share as many of the loving sentiments that come out of people’s mouths.
