A few months back, I was considering doing the big chop just to start over with my already natural hair. According to UrbanDictionary.com, the Big Chop or ‘BC’ is when a person cuts their hair to obtain the ‘natural’ state. The person cuts out the hair dye, chemical perm, or relaxer from their hair. My decision wouldn’t affect anyone except my husband. 🙂 For tv personalities or entertainers, the decision to make a big chop could actually affect their careers. Transitioning to a naturalista today is definitely more common and “accepted” on the surface than it was even 5 years ago, but there are certain perceptions that you will now be aligned with if you decide to go natural. Discrimination is real. The story below showcases the journey of a news reporter and a mother who make the decision to do the big chop.

This is such a sad story. As women, we love our hair and we try many styles. Ladies, know your body. If you feel a certain way, don’t be afraid to go to the doctor. Get checked out. This young lady probably had this type of hairstyle many times before, but this time her body did not agree.

A woman died from a massive allergic reaction that could have been caused by the glue in her hair extensions, a pathologist said yesterday.
Atasha Graham, 34, who had used hair extensions for 14 years, collapsed after clubbing until the early hours.
Home Office pathologist Michael Heath told the inquest into her death that the latex glue used to apply her extensions – or the solvent for removing old ones – may have been to blame.
He added: ‘I’ve seen cases where people using solvent to apply extensions has actually caused anaphylactic shock.
‘There are about ten to 20 deaths a year in this country, many more in America. I have seen four in the last three months.’
Dr Heath told the hearing at Southwark Coroner’s Court in London: ‘The hair extensions in Atasha’s hair were of a latex type. This may or may not be related [to her death]. If it is the hair extension, normally a reaction would occur within half an hour of applying them.’
But he added that traces of glue or solvent could have seeped into her bloodstream hours later after she started perspiring on the dancefloor.
He ruled out reactions to food and alcohol and said there were no drugs in her system.
On May 15 last year, Jamaican-born Miss Graham had been dancing at a club where her boyfriend, Fenton Johnson, was the DJ.
Mr Johnson said Miss Graham, one of nine children, was fine until she stepped through the doorway of their home in Lee, south-east London, at 6.30am, then suddenly collapsed and stopped breathing.
He called an ambulance and tried to resuscitate her as 999 operators gave him first aid instructions over the phone. But she never properly regained consciousness and died later in hospital.
A post-mortem failed to find any abnormalities with her organs or substances which could have caused her death.
Her younger brother Carlus, who attended the inquest with his wife Marsha, said: ‘This is the most frustrating thing of all. We still don’t know what happened.’
The inquest heard Ms Graham had been drinking Hennessy brandy and Red Bull hours before she died, but only had a moderate amount of alcohol in her body which could not have caused her death.
Dr Heath did not find any kind of drugs or substances in her body.

Southwark Coroner’s Court: Coroner Christopher Williams recorded a verdict of death by natural causes as he said it was not possible to identify a clear link with a particular allergen that caused Ms Graham’s body to go into shock
Jamaican-born Ms Graham, who had eaten takeaway jerk pork and Chinese before going out, did not have any history of food allergies.
Dr Heath said an allergic reaction to food would normally occur within half an hour of consumption so he did not think it could have been anything she ate.
He then examined a hair piece Ms Graham wore to see if there could have been an allergic reaction to the latex glue used to attach it to her natural hair.
But the pathologist said he would expect an allergic reaction to occur shortly after the glue was applied and Atasha had been wearing extensions, which she got done in salons, since the age of 20.
Link? The hair used in hair extensions may have caused the death of Atasha Graham
After lengthy discussions with experts the pathologist said he was certain the cause of death was anaphylactic shock as the level of tryptase, which occurs naturally in the body during an allergic reaction, was 178 micrograms per litre of blood – up to 25 times higher than the normal amount of between two and 14 micrograms per litre.
However, he said he could not pinpoint exactly what was the trigger was.
Dr Heath added: ‘The diagnosis is correct, but I am not sure what triggered it.
‘If she had recovered we could have carried out tests, but the situation we have, tragically, we cannot take it any further.
Coroner Christopher Williams recorded a verdict of death by natural causes as he said it was not possible to identify conclusively a link with a particular allergen that caused her to go into shock.
He said: ‘She had an allergic reaction to something as the level of tryptase in her body was 178 micrograms, but we are not able to identify what the specific agent was that that caused this reaction.’
Speaking afterwards, Mr Johnson, Ms Graham’s partner of two years with whom she had been trying to have a baby, described her as a ‘wonderful person’ who helped him turn his life around.
Mr Johnson said: ‘She changed me a lot. It’s so shocking this could have happened. I still have to keep looking at pictures of her on my phone.’
Ms Graham’s brother, Carlus, 32, added: ‘She was such a nice person. She loved kids. She was fun-loving.
‘She just enjoyed her life, enjoyed doing what made her happy.
‘I was younger than her by two years, but we were like twins. She even taught me how to read and write.
‘The last time I spoke to her was the Friday before this happened. I remember her every day.’

This new show is hilarious. On its premiere episode of 2 celebrities lip sync battling one another the participants were Jimmy Fallon and the Rock. You’re going to want to check them out on Thursdays on SpikeTV. L L Cool J and John Legend’s wife are the hosts.

Fallon opted to go full-Madonna for his version of her classic “Like A Prayer,” which included him wearing a choir robe and being backed by full choir in the final round. And while The Rock did a pretty impressive version of the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” in that final round, it was his earlier spin on Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” that was the real show stealer.

If you’ve never seen Idris Elba play dangerous haunted detective John Luther, you need to scurry on over to Netflix and catch up on the 3 seasons. Luther is a show that airs on BBC and is a crime drama series starring Idris Elba as Luther, a near-genius murder detective whose brilliant mind can’t always save him from the dangerous violence of his passions. It’s coming back for 6 episodes!! Squeak! Check out the details below found at http://screenrant.com/luther-season-4-miniseries-2015-idris-elba/
–
With barely 24 hours passed since the announcement Fox would be adapting it for American television, we have confirmation that the original Luther will, in fact, return to our television screens again.
In an announcement made today by BBC America, it was confirmed hit series Luther would be returning as a two-part, mini-series event starring Idris Elba, with production set to begin in March for a 2015 debut.
Said Luther creator Neil Cross in an official press release:
Ever since we said goodbye to John Luther on Southwark Bridge, there’s hardly been a minute when I didn’t wonder what happened next. So I decided to find out. We’re putting the band back together; Luther is coming back where he belongs. Back to the BBC. Back to London. And back to work.
This isn’t to say the Fox adaptation has no hope, especially when Cross and Elba are reportedly involved in development, but it does say BBC is interested in what fans have to say. What this news also indicates is plans for a feature film starring the character of John Luther may have indeed fallen through.

Many will recall a similar situation occurred – ironically – for famed Fox drama 24. Following the conclusion of the Kiefer Sutherland starring series’ eighth season, there was every indication Jack Bauer would return on the big screen. However, those plans never materialized, thus leading to the critically praised 24: Live Another Day event that occurred this past summer.
It’s still unknown what the plot of the Luther new mini-series event will entail, but we’re sure it’s going to be something radically different from what we’ve seen before. The show’s third season ended with Elba’s famed detective throwing his badge into the river and walking off into the yonder with baddie buddy Alice (Ruth Wilson).
Surely whatever comes next will somehow involve Luther (and maybe Alice too?) working outside the law more than he’s ever done before – and that’s something we’re highly interested in seeing.
Luther season 4 returns in 2015 to BBC America.

There are some things that you just need to leave alone in my opinion.
Rabbits are one of those things.
Look at these big a** rabbits.
Who needs a rabbit this dayum big hopping all everywhere? I certainly do not. These rabbits are bigger than some toddlers or dogs.
Uhhhh, headline people, rabbits are not hot this big. Look at the middle picture of the 2 rabbits. They look like they’re plotting world domination. They look scary as hell.
Something that big comes hopping through the yard and I’m going to shoot it cause it’s a dayum threat to my personal safety.
Just imagine having this in your house. Rabbits are not potty trained either people. Just think of how it will just hop along all everywhere and you have to go behind it picking up grown ass rabbit doo doo drops. You all sit down on top of a doo doo drop on the couch and watch won’t you lose your mind.
I have kids and to me this is not a safe pet. Little rabbits can bite and draw blood. A rabbit this big bites you and you won’t have a finger anymore. It could eat your throat out. I’m just saying.
Kids like to pull on animals and stuff. I have had cocker spaniels as pets around my kids and my son loved to pull on its ears. I could only imagine what would happen if a giant rabbit got upset about that? All I know is that if it bit my child, I’d have the biggest dayum lucky rabbit’s foot hanging off my keychain in the world!!!!!!!! LOL
My thing is this….LEAVE NATURE ALONE! People need to stop cross breeding animals and trying to make things bigger like rabbits.
The only thing I want bigger is the size of the Krispy Creme Doughnut. They done shrunk the hell out of that doughnut. Now I have to eat 4 to equal the 2 I use to eat. LMAO!!!

Man, if I could be a professional dancer, I would be. I grew up on Soul Train and Party Machine so I’ve been dancing all my life and I love me a routine. Back in the day, we use to have little dance steps and stuff and it was always so cool. People would always come up to me and ask how we came up with routines.
Anywho, thanks to YouTube, we can see choreographers showcase their skills. They even go so far as to record their classes and showcase dancers too.
In this clip from one of Matt Steffanina’s classes, we see Asia. She is a very popular child in L.A. and on television. She started on that show about dance moms or something and they gave her her own spinoff called Raising Asia. You see her in the front at minute 0:56.
The routine is based on Fetty Wap’s new smash hit Trap Queen which I’ve clipped in her also under the dance part.
