Natural Hair Extensions…

Natural Hair Extensions…

The Huffington Post published an article on Monday titled, The Best Natural Hair Extension And Wig Brands. Period. It immediately intrigued me because 10 years ago wearing a natural looking weave would’ve been taboo. It is a beautiful thing that natural hair has been embraced today by so many. I’ve only worn my hair in its natural state for the past 4 years. I had severe breakage during my pregnancy and kept my hair in protective styles until it was completely natural. I would have loved to purchase one of these clip-ons or extensions my local beauty supply, but Remy hair was the end all, be all and took up most of the inventory. I will definitely be trying out the companies listed in this article because my hair is less dense and some styles I try just don’t give me the fullness that I desire. Check out the article and list of companies here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/02/natural-hair-extension-wig-brands_n_6590998.html

Has anyone tried any of these companies? Did you like it? Are there any others to add to their list?

Happy Hump Day!

Warren Sapp Arrested

Warren Sapp Arrested

Warren Sapp took, working vacation, to a whole new level.  While on location in Arizona covering the Superbowl, Sapp decided to find out what other ass-ets Arizona had by purchasing time with 2 escorts.  Sources say, they were paid to show Sapp around Arizona as his personal your guides.   LOL

No, seriously, he paid 2 escorts to party with him and something went horribly wrong.  He was charged with not only solicitation but assault and subsequently lost his job.

With all the free behind in the world, he loses his job over buying some?!  Doesn’t make sense to me at all.  I wanna know if the women got paid at least.  LOL

Poor Sappy, hope you find a new gig soon.

Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. King, both a Baptist minister and civil-rights activist, had a seismic impact on race relations in the United States, beginning in the mid-1950s. Among many efforts, King headed the SCLC. Through his activism, he played a pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of African-American citizens in the South and other areas of the nation, as well as the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, among several other honors. King was assassinated in April 1968, and continues to be remembered as one of the most lauded African-American leaders in history, often referenced by his 1963 speech, “I Have a Dream.”

Groundhog Disagrees With Mayor

Groundhog Disagrees With Mayor

Bwahahahahahahahaha!  I haven’t laughed this hard in the morning in a long time.

In a stunning thriller, the groundhog of 2015 got extremely close to the mayor and politely bit him on the ear after the mayor lied on the groundhog according to sources close to the mayor and groundhog.

Others say that the mayor owed the groundhog some money for bribes in former groundhog predictions to make the mayor look favorable in upcoming elections.  LOL.

In other reports, I heard the groundhog is actually female and was responding to pheromones the mayor was giving off, similar to what happens in mating season.  Lmao

Either way, the video is hilarious especially how the mayor keeps his composure through it all.

Had it been me, PETA would have drawn charges against me after I beat the hell out of that groundhog for disrespecting me in from of my constituents.  LOL.  Just jokes.

See the video below from YouTube courtesy of the associated press.

😂 Phee

Ever tried Publix ‘s Mardi Gras chicken wings?

Ever tried Publix ‘s Mardi Gras chicken wings?

Mardi Gras chicken wings at Publix are one of my favorites in my house.  We eat tons of chicken because I don’t eat beef or pork. Since we eat it so much I am always looking for different ways to prepare it. While rummaging through my spice cabinet on Friday, I realized my options were limited because I didn’t feel like running to the store. The outcome was absolutely delicious. They tasted very similar to the Mardi Gras wings. Better because I determined my spice level. It was delicious enough for me to make it again today.

It turned out even better today. I wanted to share it with you guys so you can enjoy it as well. I’m not specific with measurements because everything is to taste; I just eyeball it. The intensity of the flavor depends on how much or how little you choose to add. I added less salt initially, but increased that and the liquid smoke today.

I purchase about 15 pounds of wings from the Farmer’s Market, clean them and separate portions into Ziploc bags. Then I freeze them and take them out as needed. After the chicken is unthawed,  I place all of my seasonings in the bag and massage the meat.

Seasonings used: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, seasoning salt, Italian seasonings, and liquid smoke. That’s it. 🙂 Massage your meat. Let it rest in fridge for at least 30 minutes. Lay them flat on a pan, put them in a 400° oven, and cook to your desired tenderness at least 45 minutes. Viola. Yummy yummy in your tummy.

Let me know if you try it and your thoughts. Any other ingredient suggestions? I bet adding cayenne pepper would turn it out, but my hubby can’t have spicy foods. Bummer. I completed my meal tonight with sautéed zucchini and onions, a salad, and a loaded baked potato.

Shadow or Nah?

Shadow or Nah?

Groundhog Day 2015

image

This heavyweight rodent decided to scurry himself out of his burrow to see his shadow predicting 6 more weeks of winter. Ugh, I am sooooo ready for an early Spring. It could happen. He’s not exactly accurate every year. The Washington Post mentioned how he once predicted an early Spring and because he was wrong an attorney tried to have him receive the death penalty for misrepresentation. Now, that’s a laugh. Cocaine is a hell of a drug per Rick James. 😆

Keep enjoying the warmth of this Hot Honeyed Cocoa during this winter season, Cocoa Drops!
